Peace Love and Headbands

I absolutely love headbands!!!  I LOVE how a headband accessorizes any outfit. Making my own headbands out of real or fake flowers is even more fun. When out in nature its easy to make your own headband and throw it on for that very natural hippy lovin look!! Or you can run to your local craft store and make your own headband out of some fake flowers that will last a lot longer than the real ones. Either way if your looking to switch up your everyday headband give this look a try. And when you have some extra free time get with your girlfriends and make a few headbands for yourself. A new way to spruce up your braid!

Bored with just your regular braid? Spruce it up with this  new fun way to braid your hair. Add a ribbon or a scarf or any kind of fabric that you choose. Tie it to the top of the strand and add it into your braid. This is such a cute way to add a hair accessory to just your average braid and its super easy and fun. If u have any ribbon or scarfs lying around give this look a try. Or you can purchase ribbon at any fabric store. Enjoy!!

I absolutely love Brigitte Bardot!!!!! I love her color, cut, and the amount of volume her hair always seems to have without looking like too much effort or thought was put into it. She has that whole messy, sexy, “just rolled out of bed looking this hot” kind of look going on that all woman want. . Her whole look is so beautiful and effortless which to me is the most attractive on a woman. Volume like this isnt easy to achieve for those that have fine, flat, lifeless hair. The type of hair that only seems to lose volume directly after you tried your very best to backcomb the crap out of it. Sorry girls not everyone was blessed like Brigitte. But with a few of my tips I’ll be sure to help you achieve volume like this and keep it for hours.

Tips to follow:

1. After shampooing your hair get out of the shower and apply a root lifting spray or mousse. I love Catwalk TIGI root boost spray.

2.Blow dry your hair upside down allowing the dryer to directly hit those roots. By blow drying the hair upside down it allows you to hit the root of your hair in the direction that the roots need to go, which is away from the scalp.

3. Next, section the hair off at the crown and back comb the hair at the root. This will help give your hair height and will give you a base to work with. If you want a ton of volume then you will need to do a ton of backcombing. If you only want a little volume you will need to do minimal backcombing.

This is what it will look like after you have back combed.

4.After you have backcombed your hair, spray the root with hairspray and let dry. I like root volumizing hairspray by Bed Head called Superstar.

5. Now, you will need a boar bristled brush to smooth down the hair after you have backcombed it. You want to smooth the hair down just a tad if your wanting to achieve this look. You want to keep that height but smooth the hair down so that you cant see all your amazing backcombing work.

5. Once the hair is smoothed down spray again with hair spray and wahhhh laaahh! Beautiful Brigitte Bardot hair! :)  Style any way you like and flaunt that gorgeous “effortless” volumized style!!! Enjoy!!

Hat Inspiration

I love the way a hat can accessorize an outfit and it really adds a beautiful, effortless look. Whether by the pool or going to a fancy event a hat always adds a touch of personal style. I especially love how hats can get me through those last few days before needing to shampoo my hair again. ( I shampoo twice a week mainly out of laziness because I wear extensions and it takes fooooooreeeeeeverrrr to dry,  but also because my hair is healthier when I stretch out my days between shampoos) Sometimes when Im really trying to get through those last few days of “dirty” or  ”messy hair”  a hat really helps to mask that messy, greasy hair and show off your personal style in the meantime. Try it sometime when your running late or just simply don’t feel like shampooing your hair that day and want some extra time to be lazy with your loved ones!!
